The pain of injuries and chronic illnesses can prevent you from enjoying the activities you love and even threaten your independence. From golf to gardening, pickleball to keeping up with the grandkids, we know you want to get out there and live your best life. That’s why we’ve developed a comprehensive orthopaedic program to deliver quality orthopaedic care using the most up-to-date treatments and technologies.
Orthopaedic specialists who treat you like family
Our board-certified orthopaedic surgeons and specialists at Summit Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Surgery are experts in diagnosing and treating any kind of musculoskeletal problem, including bone, joint, ligament, tendon and muscle conditions. Our orthopaedic team also provides sports medicine services designed to prevent and treat injuries in athletes of all ages and abilities.
In addition to orthopaedic doctors, other members of our highly trained team include advanced practice providers, nurses and pain management specialists.
Our care is precise and personalized. We take the time to learn how your orthopaedic problem affects your life and loved ones, and we collaborate with you on decisions about your care. You’re the most important member of our team!
Advanced diagnostics and noninvasive orthopaedic procedures
Your orthopaedic surgeon will consult with other physicians at the Health System if a specialized diagnostic or image-guided procedure is required. Options include nerve conduction and electromyogram studies, as well as ultrasound-guided injections. These tests and procedures can pinpoint and treat a number of painful orthopaedic problems without the need for surgery.
When you need an orthopaedic surgeon
Our orthopaedic doctors will work with you to develop a treatment plan that fits your needs. Often, we start with nonsurgical treatments, such as physical therapy, casting and bracing, medications, or joint injections in an effort to relieve pain, reduce inflammation and promote healing.
If conservative therapies don’t provide enough relief, we will offer you surgical options to improve your function and eliminate or reduce pain. Some of the orthopaedic surgeries we perform include:
- Fracture repairs
- Hand and elbow repair, including carpal tunnel and trigger finger surgeries
- Hip replacement
- Knee surgeries, including ACL and meniscus repairs, and knee replacement
- Shoulder reconstruction, rotator cuff repair and shoulder replacement
Should you need surgery, our orthopaedic team will make sure that you understand your procedure, what you need to do before surgery, and what to expect afterward.
A premier orthopaedic facility
We offer inpatient and outpatient orthopaedic surgeries at our Brunswick and Camden campuses. Each of our private, suite-style rooms is designed with your recovery in mind with comfortable recliners and specially designed showers and toilets. Other amenities include a sleeper sofa for overnight guests, a TV and wireless internet access.
Brunswick Campus
If your inpatient surgery is scheduled at our Brunswick Campus, your recovery and physical therapy will begin in our premier Orthopaedic & Spine Center. The center offers a home-like setting designed to promote optimal healing.
Rehabilitation usually begins the day of your surgery and includes individual therapy and group sessions held in a large rehabilitation room. The opportunity to move around the center and interact with other patients creates a supportive environment, which is key to a positive outcome.

Camden Campus
If your inpatient surgery is scheduled at our Camden Campus, your recovery and physical therapy will begin on the same day as surgery from the comfort and convenience of your room. The physical and occupational therapists who visit your room while you’re an inpatient are the same experts you will see on an outpatient basis to complete your recovery. Using proven rehabilitation methods, our friendly and professional team will see you through each stage of your treatment until you’re back on your feet.
