The event was held at Emory Conference Center Hotel in Atlanta, Ga. Of the 18 semi-finalists who competed, Mann earned fourth runner up.

Prior to the on-stage portion of the pageant, each contestant was interviewed privately by a panel of judges to determine the five finalists. Mann continued onto the final round where she was escorted on stage by a member of the Marine Corps League, and her bio was read as she posed in front of the judges. The final round questions were unique for each finalist and asked while the contestants were on stage.

Mann was asked what advice she would give to younger generations. She expressed her motto of, “treating others better than you want to be treated. Be trustworthy, take time for family, work hard at something, and learn how to enjoy life.” She also talked about how, “It’s important to have a relationship with God. Attend church even when you might not feel like it, because afterward you’ll most likely feel better.”

When asked what activities she participates in at the Senior Care Center-St. Marys, she said, “Like most people, I like Bingo. A group of us like to color. I was a florist during my career, so I help with flower arrangements, as well. I visit and check on other residents and my roommate. I’m also very involved in the Resident Council. I really like the facility, and the staff take good care of us. I enjoy the activities they offer, especially this pageant!”

Mann qualified as an entrant for the Ms. Georgia Health Care Association Pageant after winning the annual Ms. Senior Care Center-St. Marys pageant on March 5, 2019. To crown a winner at the Senior Care Center-St. Marys pageant, judges awarded points on the contestants’ overall appearance, personality, and attitude towards life, as well as responses to questions about their life’s special moments and who they admired most. Originally from Waycross, Ga., Mann’s hobbies include painting and embroidery.
