Health System Welcomes Jason Dancy, M.D., To Summit Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Surgery

Sept. 17, 2018 – Southeast Georgia Health System is pleased to welcome physical medicine & rehabilitation physician Jason Dancy, M.D., to Summit Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Surgery, and to the Brunswick Campus medical staff.

Dr. Dancy headshotDancy earned his medical degree from Medical University of the Americas, Nevis, West Indies. He completed his physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at Case Western Reserve University/MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio, and his Interventional Spine Medicine fellowship at Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. Prior to joining the Health System, Dancy received the Dean of Clinical Medicine Award in medical school and was the Chief Fellow of Spine Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic.

“I was drawn to the specialty of physical medicine because I have a strong desire to help people and make a difference in their lives,” Dancy says. “Patient care should be a team approach. I want patients to know and understand their options so we can work together to develop a treatment plan that works best for them and will help them reach their goals. Nothing is more satisfying then helping people get back to doing the things they enjoy.”

Dancy’s patient-centered, team approach to health care is applicable to a variety of injuries. He adds, “I use a combination of interventions, including exercises, therapies, medications and procedures to help patients reduce their pain and improve their function.”

Although Dancy had his pick of Health System’s to choose from throughout the country, he decided to join the Health System because of its close-knit, family atmosphere.

“When I came to Southeast Georgia Health System, I was literally treated like family,” says Dancy. “The entire staff at the Health System is warm and friendly, and the care is terrific. I am excited to work alongside a broad range of specialists with tremendous training and experience.”

When Dancy isn’t practicing medicine, he can be found working out, traveling and spending time with family. He enjoys golfing and fishing, and having grown up in Canada, his favorite sport is hockey.

Summit Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Surgery, a strategic affiliate of the Health System, has two locations in Glynn County and one in Camden County. Dancy’s office is located in the Brunswick Campus Medical Plaza at 3025 Shrine Road, Suite 390. He also sees patients at the St. Simons Island location at 7000 Wellness Way, Suite 7110.
