"Mammos & ManiCURES" Promotes Breast Cancer Awareness Through Pampering, Polish and Pink Power

October 1, 2018 - According to the American Cancer Society, there is no sure way to prevent breast cancer. However, there are things all women can do that might reduce their risk and help increase the odds that if cancer does occur, it will be found at an early, more treatable stage. For women age 40 and older, mammograms are recommended every year to detect potential cancers at the earliest possible moment.

This year, Southeast Georgia Health System will celebrate National Breast Cancer Awareness Month with Mammos & ManiCURES, a free, fun and educational evening of pampering, polish and pink power. Mammos & ManiCURES will provide an opportunity for attendees to meet members of the Health System’s breast care team and learn about breast health, receive mini manicures and facials, enjoy delicious snacks, and much more. Bra measurements, clinical breast exams and screening mammograms will also be available.

Mammos & ManiCURES will take place 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 11 on the Brunswick Campus, Outpatient Care Center, 2500 Starling St., and on the Camden Campus, Thursday, Oct. 18, Conference Center, 2000 Dan Proctor Dr., St. Marys.

Mammogram screenings require a physician’s order; insurance is accepted and financial assistance is available for patients who qualify. Appointments are recommended, but walk-ins are welcome. For more information or to make an appointment, call 855-ASK-SGHS (855-275-7447).
