Meredith J. Brazell, D.O. Discusses Childhood Obesity in Health Chat Webinar

July 26, 2018 – The last national health survey showed that in Georgia alone, 13 percent of children age two to four are obese and 32.2 percent of children age 10 to 17 are obese. In fact, the majority of children age two today will be obese by age 35. During this month’s Health Chat Webinar, Meredith J. Brazell, D.O., Southeast Georgia Physician Associates-Camden Pediatrics, presents “Preventing Childhood Obesity One Step at a Time” to give parents easy tips on living a healthier lifestyle with their children.

Dr. Brazell“Many times, people don’t notice the small things, like the amount of sugar in a seemingly harmless eight ounce glass of apple juice,” says Brazell, “but there’s actually more sugar in that one glass of apple juice than in a whole Hershey’s chocolate bar or a can of soda. This webinar will help you decide your first steps toward combatting obesity.”

Brazell earned her medical degree from A.T. Still University, Mesa, Arizona, and completed her residency at Augusta University, Augusta, Georgia. Prior to joining the Health System, Brazell was featured in Pediatric News for her research in childhood obesity and presented her findings at the American Academy of Pediatrics 2016 Conference in San Francisco.
