hosted a Centenarian Day celebration on Tuesday, Sept. 22, to honor Annie
Stafford, age 102.
Stafford,
lifelong
resident of Brunswick, Georgia, has resided in the Senior Care Center
since February 26, 2014.
Friends, family and
Abysinia
Baptist church members participated in the celebration, with many sharing
life stories about Stafford and singing hymns in her honor. The celebration
continued with cake and punch.
National Centenarian’s Day is a day to honor those who are 100 years
of age or older. The day was originally proclaimed as a time to listen
to centenarians as they have so much rich history and wisdom to share.
Often, listening to their life stories proves the age-old saying that
with age comes wisdom.
