Health System Auxiliaries Recognize Volunteers of the Quarter

Peggy Tuten Receiving Volunteer of the QuarterJune 25, 2015–Southeast Georgia Health System Auxiliaries recently announced Peggy Tuten as the Brunswick Campus Volunteer of the Quarter and Glenda Battle as the Camden Campus Volunteer of the Quarter during their respective quarterly Auxiliary luncheons.

A seven-year member of the Auxiliary, Tuten volunteers her time in the Gift Shop, Coastal Medical Access Project (CMAP) and Ribbon of Hope, a new boutique on the Brunswick campus.

“Almost every day, Peggy spends time at the Health System,” said Kristin Doll, director, Volunteer Services. “She has a servant’s heart and willingness to help that is evident in the many hours she spends volunteering here and in our community.”

In her spare time, Tuten also stays busy serving at the Pilot Club, Relay for Life and American Cancer Society. She also enjoys collecting items and memorabilia related to the nursing field.

Incoming president for the Camden Campus Auxiliary, Glenda Battle began volunteering at the Health System after she retired from her position at the Georgia Department of Driver Services two years ago.

“Glenda is a dedicated volunteer and excellent Auxiliary board member,” said Kathleen Worthing, immediate past president, Camden Campus Auxiliary. “Her calm but confident demeanor is comforting to our patients and guests. I know she will do a first-rate job as president this year.”

In addition to her volunteer activities, Battle enjoys swimming, reading, word games, Zumba and spending time at the beach.
More than 300 volunteers generously share their time and talents to assist patients, visitors, and team members at the Southeast Georgia Health System Brunswick and Camden campuses, as well as the Senior Care Centers in Brunswick and St. Marys.
