Camden Auxiliary Honors Life Members, Names Volunteer of the Quarter

BRUNSWICK, Georgia: April 5, 2010 –The Southeast Georgia Health System Camden Campus Auxiliary honored five life members and announced the Volunteer of the Quarter at the group’s quarterly meeting on Monday, March 15, at Laurel Island Links.

Carolyn Richardson, who currently serves as the Auxiliary treasurer and volunteers in the Gift Shop and at the volunteer services desk, was named Volunteer of the Quarter. Auxiliary Life Members Estelle Aldridge, Anna Young, Betsy Prince, Bette Harrison, and Gladys Collie were honored with a cake and each presented with a lifetime member pin, plaque, and a single rose. Life members who were also honored but unable to attend were Pat Williams and Jack Piper. Life members have participated in the Auxiliary as an active member for at least five years and retain the same rights as active members, even though they may no longer be serving or serve in a limited capacity due to advanced age or medical condition.

“It is important for us to honor our life members and recognize outstanding volunteers like Carolyn Richardson for the many valuable contributions they have made to the Health System,” says Kristin Doll, director of Volunteer Services at the Health System. “These Auxilians inspire us each day through their commitment and dedication to a lifetime of service to others.” Volunteers, from teenagers to seniors, serve throughout the Health System at both the Camden and Brunswick campuses, as well as the Senior Care Centers in St. Marys and Brunswick.
