BRUNSWICK, Georgia: April 5, 2010 –The Southeast Georgia Health System
Camden Campus Auxiliary honored five life members and announced the Volunteer
of the Quarter at the group’s quarterly meeting on Monday, March
15, at Laurel Island Links.
Carolyn Richardson, who currently serves as the Auxiliary treasurer and
volunteers in the Gift Shop and at the volunteer services desk, was named
Volunteer of the Quarter. Auxiliary Life Members Estelle Aldridge, Anna
Young, Betsy Prince, Bette Harrison, and Gladys Collie were honored with
a cake and each presented with a lifetime member pin, plaque, and a single
rose. Life members who were also honored but unable to attend were Pat
Williams and Jack Piper. Life members have participated in the Auxiliary
as an active member for at least five years and retain the same rights
as active members, even though they may no longer be serving or serve
in a limited capacity due to advanced age or medical condition.
“It is important for us to honor our life members and recognize outstanding
volunteers like Carolyn Richardson for the many valuable contributions
they have made to the Health System,” says Kristin Doll, director
of Volunteer Services at the Health System. “These Auxilians inspire
us each day through their commitment and dedication to a lifetime of service
to others.” Volunteers, from teenagers to seniors, serve throughout
the Health System at both the Camden and Brunswick campuses, as well as
