BB&T officials from the new Brunswick Financial Center presented the
Southeast Georgia Health System Foundation with a $25,000 gift in support
of the Health System’s new Senior Care Center. The official presentation
was made during the Foundation’s board meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 3.
According to Bradford Brown, senior commercial lender, the gift will be
presented to the Foundation in $5,000 increments over the next five years.
“The main reason we selected the Senior Care Center for this gift
is that we need this type of service in our community,” Brown says.
“Many of us have parents and/or grandparents who are using or will
soon need these types of services and this really hits close to home.”
As a not-for-profit health care organization that is not supported by tax
dollars, 100% of the Health System’s charitable financial assistance
is used for patient care and is not diverted to overhead or operational
costs, says Katherine Thurber, the Foundation’s director of development.
“We are able to enhance the activities and programs for our residents
through the generosity of our donors, such as BB& T,” Thurber
says. “This gift will enable us to further our mission of supporting
the health care needs of the community.”
