Understanding Health Care Pricing
At Southeast Georgia Health System, we understand the challenges and barriers
the health care market poses. To make your health care experience easier,
we continuously work to provide resources that may help you manage your
health care expenses, feel confident in your choice for care, and understand
how to best use your insurance plan benefits.
Patient Price Estimator
As a service to our patients, we offer financial information about upcoming
procedures, including cost estimates. This information allows you to determine
your estimated out-of-pocket financial responsibility for anticipated
care and recovery. At a time when your focus should be on your health,
we want to relieve any concerns you may have about insurance coverage,
out-of-pocket costs, payment options, and the management of health care
expenses.
HFMA Consumer Guides
The Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) has developed patient-friendly
consumer guides to assist you and we are pleased to make these resources
available. We believe HFMA’s consumer guides are excellent resources
offering a wide variety of information to help you understand the costs
associated with your care.

Consumer Pricing
In compliance with the national mandates for pricing transparency, Southeast
Georgia Health System is providing our Standard Chargemaster Price List
and Average Charges for Diagnosis Related Groups (DRG). While we will
post updates to these files annually, the pricing information may not
reflect the most current charge items or charge amounts, as additions
and changes to the chargemaster are necessary for a variety of reasons.
Healthcare billing is complex and it is important for you, as the consumer,
to understand standard charges may not be a relevant starting point for
estimating the cost you may incur during an episode of care, nor do they
represent what the hospital is actually paid.
Southeast Georgia Health System’s charges are the same for every
patient. However, a patient's individual out of pocket responsibility
will vary depending on their health insurance, benefit plans, applicable
discounts, and the services provided. The actual cost of your care may
be higher or lower based on factors specific to your visit, such as your
length of stay in the hospital, the complexity of your medical condition,
and services ordered by your physician(s).
The pricing information on our website contains only hospital charges and
does not include charges for physicians, surgeons, radiologists, pathologists,
anesthesiologists or other professional services provided in conjunction
with a hospital service.
Uninsured or underinsured patients should consult with our financial counselors
to determine whether they qualify for discounts, financial assistance
or government-assisted health insurance programs.
