When Patti Wilcher was diagnosed with cancer, her treatment plan called
for two months of chemotherapy, followed by radiation therapy. There were
several places she could go to for her treatments, including Savannah
or Waycross, but she chose Southeast Georgia Health System.
Patti's doctor is Abraham Cheong, M.D., a board-certified medical oncologist
with Southeast Georgia Physician Associates–Hematology & Oncology,
a strategic affiliate of Southeast Georgia Health System, with offices
in Jesup, Brunswick and St. Marys. "I trusted Dr. Cheong and I was
relieved to learn I could get the chemotherapy I needed from Southeast
Georgia Health System, right here in Jesup," she says.
"Dr. Cheong is very down-to-earth and friendly," says Patti.
"The first time I went to see him, he sat and talked with my daughter
and me for nearly an hour. His staff is excellent and I knew I could trust
them to take good care of me."
Patti finished her chemotherapy treatments in June of 2012 and then received
radiation treatments at the Southeast Georgia Health System Cancer Care
Center in Brunswick. "I've had previous experiences with the
hospital in Brunswick, so I know it's a good place to be. That's
where I wanted to go."
