The
Southeast Georgia Health System is pleased to announce that its
Camden Campus has once again received an ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade from
The Leapfrog Group. This national distinction celebrates the Health System’s
achievements in protecting hospital patients from preventable harm and
errors and is the third consecutive ‘A’ grade for the Camden Campus.
“We are very proud of our Camden Campus team members and their phenomenal
commitment to maintain the Leapfrog ‘A’ safety grade,” says
Scott Raynes, MBA, MA, president and CEO, Southeast Georgia Health System. “This accomplishment
is not the result of a specific group of individuals. Achieving the ‘A’
safety grade is a collective effort, from the physicians, clinicians and
nursing teams to administrative departments, food and nutrition, and environmental
services, as well as our volunteers. Each one is deserving of our thanks
and congratulations for this achievement.”
Glenn Gann, RN, MSN, vice president and administrator,
Camden Campus, concurs with Raynes. “Achieving the ‘A’ grade exemplifies
our team members’ dedication to our mission to provide safe, quality
care to meet the health needs of the communities we serve. I am very proud
of our team members and everything they do. This is the hospital that
our friends and family come to for care, and we’re honored to be
recognized for making their health and safety a priority.”
The Leapfrog Group is an independent national watchdog organization with
a 10-year history of assigning letter grades to general hospitals throughout
the United States, based on a hospital’s ability to prevent medical
errors and harm to patients. The grading system is peer-reviewed, fully
transparent and free to the public. Hospital Safety Grade results are
based on more than 30 national performance measures and are updated each
fall and spring.
“I applaud the hospital leadership and workforce for their strong
commitment to safety and transparency,” said Leah Binder, president
and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “An ‘A’ Safety Grade
is a sign that hospitals are continuously evaluating their performance,
so that they can best protect patients. Your hospital team should be extremely
proud of their dedication and achievement.”
