The
Southeast Georgia Health System Camden Campus received an “A” Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade for spring
2022. This national distinction recognizes the Health System’s Camden
Campus achievements in protecting patients from preventable harm and error
in the hospital. The Camden Campus previously received an A safety grade
for Fall 2021.
“We are very proud of our team members and their commitment to ensuring
our community has access to safe, quality care,” says
Scott Raynes, MBA, MA, president and CEO, Southeast Georgia Health System. “Achieving the ‘A’
safety grade recognizes their efforts to provide the very best care for
the patients we serve. It requires the commitment of every member of our
hospital team—from those who provide direct patient care to those
who support the frontline staff. Each one is deserving of our thanks and
congratulations for this exceptional achievement.”
Glenn Gann, RN, MSN, vice president and administrator, Camden Campus, concurs with Raynes.
“Our team members are focused on providing exceptional care every
day. They work together to identify opportunities for improvements. Not
only do they hold themselves personally accountable for achieving positive
outcomes, they also work together as a team to ensure that we all succeed.
I am very proud of our team members and everything they do. This is the
hospital that our friends and family come to for care and we’re
honored to be recognized for making their health and safety a priority.”
The Leapfrog Group, an independent national watchdog organization, assigns
an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D,”
or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country based
on over thirty national performance measures reflecting errors, accidents,
injuries and infections, as well as systems hospitals have in place to
prevent harm.
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital rating program
based exclusively on hospital prevention of medical errors and harms to
patients. The grading system is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free
to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
“As our health care system continues to feel the strain of the pandemic,
I thank the workforce and leadership of Southeast Georgia Health System
for sustained commitment to patient safety, day in and day out,”
said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “An ‘A’
Safety Grade is an outstanding achievement, and one that is not possible
without a 24/7 effort by the entire health care workforce to protect patients
from harm. This community should be proud.”
