On Thursday evening, November 17, members of the Relief Society of the
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints prepared a lavish holiday
meal for patients, families and guests at the
Southeast Georgia Health System Foundation Nunnally House.
Ham, casseroles, vegetables, and many desserts were greatly enjoyed by
everyone. And in keeping with tradition, there were plenty of leftovers
to come back to for several days afterwards.
In addition to the outstanding meal, Relief Society members also collected
donations for the Nunnally House pantry which provides canned foods, snacks,
and microwaveable meals for cancer patients. The cupboards and refrigerator
are once again full thanks to this generous gift!
This is the eighth year that The Relief Society has organized, prepared
and delivered this wonderful gift of a home-cooked meal to Nunnally House.
Nunnally House at Southeast Georgia Health System offers rooms for cancer patients, family members of critical care patients,
medical students and on-call medical staff. The atmosphere is inviting
and warm, with a fireplace-lit gathering space within a relaxing common
area. Amenities include furnished rooms with queen beds, kitchenettes,
cable television, full baths, and daily housekeeping services.
