Each year the Southeast Georgia Health System Sports Medicine Team coordinates
annual athletic screenings at our area schools. This program provides
low cost ($10) pre-participation evaluations for more than one thousand
student athletes from area high schools and middle schools so they can
participate in sports. The money raised during this process goes to the
school for equipment and supplies needed for their athletic programs.
Our screening process is the first step in the injury prevention process
and we can’t do it alone! Each year we rely on hundreds of volunteers
who share their time and skills at these events. We are seeking physicians,
nurses, medical assistants and others. Many of the tasks we are asking
for help with do not require a clinical background.
When: Tuesday, April 26, 4-7 p.m. (approx.)
Where: Brunswick High School
Share your expertise! Hours may vary, we welcome any time you might be
able to offer. This program promotes the excellence of our local physicians
and healthcare professionals with specific knowledge in the physical demands
of sport participation and we would love your help.
