Each year, the Georgia Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC) plan Day
of Service projects that will benefit their communities. For the fourth
consecutive year,
Southeast Georgia Health System Foundation’s Nunnally House was selected as the beneficiary of the GFWC Brunswick Woman’s Club
“Pack the Pantry” Day of Service Project.
Since 2019, club members have purchased and donated hundreds of nutritious
and delicious food items to benefit cancer patients and guests residing
at Nunnally House. The pantry is now more than full with a bounty of meals,
soups, snacks, fruit juice, soft drinks and disposable dinnerware. In
fact, based on experience from previous years’ donations, Health
System staff installed additional shelving units to accommodate the club’s
generosity.
Organized in 1913 as The Civic Association of Brunswick, the GFWC Brunswick
Woman’s Club members remain dedicated to improving quality of life
in multiple areas, including active support of arts and culture, education
and libraries, civic engagement and outreach, health and wellness, and
the environment.
Nunnally House is
Southeast Georgia Health System Foundation’s complementary residential facility for in-treatment cancer patients, family
members of critical care patients, rotating medical students and on-call
Health System team members.
