May 10, 2021 – St. Simons Island resident Cheri Pappas recently donated
blue “VACCINATED” wristbands to Southeast Georgia Health System
and Glynn County Health Department to help ease COVID-19 anxiety. The
wristbands will be distributed to individuals receiving their COVID-19 vaccine.
Pappas hopes her generous gift will serve as a beacon of hope. “I
want people to see the blue bracelet and know that they’re amongst
others who have received the vaccine. I hope this helps my community feel
safer while they’re getting on with their day-to-day lives.”
Individuals who received their vaccines before the wristbands were available
may pick up a wristband at the Health System’s Foundation office,
located at 2436 Parkwood Drive in Brunswick. Vaccine cards must be presented
to receive the bracelet.
Southeast Georgia Health System offers free COVID-19 Pfizer vaccines to
all individuals age 12 and older. Appointments are recommended, but walk-ins
are accepted. Vaccine clinics are held in Brunswick and St. Marys; to
check Vaccine Clinic dates and times, and to schedule an appointment, visit
