March 3, 2020 – Southeast Georgia Health System’s
Senior Care Centers were recently presented with certificates of achievement for meeting quality
criteria established by the American Health Care Association/National
Center for Assisted Living’s (AHCA/NCAL) Quality Initiative Program.
The Quality Initiative Program is a national effort to continuously improve
the quality of care patients receive in residential care centers. Quality
Initiative Goals are set each year with the goal to improve key areas
in the various centers across the nation. The program honors members of
the AHCA/NCAL that have achieved one or more of the Quality Initiative Goals.
Senior Care Center-Brunswick met the following three goals, qualifying them to receive Tier 3 recognition:
- Safely reduced the amount of hospitalizations
- Improved overall customer satisfaction
- Improved functional outcomes (self-care and mobility) by 15%
Senior Care Center-St. Marys met the following three goals, qualifying them to receive Tier 3 recognition:
- Safely reduced the amount of hospitalizations
- Safely reduced the off-label use of antipsychotics
- Improved functional outcomes (self-care and mobility) by 15%
