Southeast Georgia Health System recently announced that
Glenn Gann, R.N., MSN, has been appointed Vice President and Administrator of the
Camden Campus following the retirement of Howard Sepp Jr., FACHE, and Gina Copeland,
R.N., has been promoted to Director, Patient Care Services, Brunswick Campus
Emergency Care Center.
Gann joined the Health System in January 2017 as director of the Brunswick
Campus Emergency Care Center, where he successfully focused on service,
patient satisfaction, improved throughput and staff retention. He’s
worked closely with the Health System’s Facilities and construction
teams to coordinate the renovation and expansion of the Emergency Care Center.
Gann is also active in promoting the health and wellness of the community,
especially underserved populations. A “graduate” of Leadership
Glynn, Gann established himself with law enforcement, first responders
and community organizations, representing the Health System during what
have proven to be some very challenging times. Those organizations include
the Southern Regional Community Collaborative (RCC), Glynn County Homeless
Coalition, Family Connections, Project Hope and Coastal Georgia Area Community
Action Authority.
By coordinating with these resources, Gann has made great progress in building
community collaboration, encouraging cooperation by removing barriers
and helping to provide more services to our in-need population. In 2018,
the Southern Regional Community Collaborative honored Gann as Partner
Champion at their Second Annual RCC Celebration at the Chatham County
DFCS office in Savannah, Georgia. The award recognized his instrumental
contributions in creating and launching an online, free website that lists
resources and providers who offer mental health services.
In light of Gann’s new role, Gina Copeland, R.N., was promoted to
director of the Health System’s Brunswick Campus
Emergency Care Center. Copeland has been a Health System team member for nine years, most recently
serving as manager, Patient Care Services, Emergency Care Center Brunswick Campus.
Traditionally, Copeland’s role required her to care for patients
at any and every stage of their illness or injury and provide support
to her nursing team. During the coronavirus pandemic, Copeland has faced
additional responsibilities with grace and fortitude. She dedicated herself
to ensuring her team had the proper personal protective equipment to treat
COVID-19 patients, ranging from N-95 masks and face-shields to full-body
zip-up suits. She also became an information pipeline for her fellow team
members, keeping them updated on changing policies and the results of
any suspected COVID-19 patients they may have interacted with.
“Glenn and Gina have selflessly served the Health System and community
long before these trying times, but the coronavirus pandemic has only
highlighted their dedication, fortitude, and capacity to care for patients,
the community, and their fellow team members,” says
Michael D. Scherneck, President and CEO, Southeast Georgia Health System. “I am very proud of Glenn and
Gina and everything they’ve already accomplished, and I look forward
to having them continue their service to the Health System in their new
roles.”
