January 9, 2019– The yearlong fundraising successes of the Southeast
Georgia Health System Brunswick and Camden Campus
Volunteer Services were celebrated during their recent cowboy-themed holiday luncheons. They
presented donations to the Health System from the proceeds raised through the
Gift Shop and
Volunteer Services fundraising events held December 2018 through November 2019.
“The Brunswick Campus volunteers are delighted to make a $130,000
donation to the Health System,” said Peggy Tuten, president, Brunswick
Campus Volunteer Services. “We work tirelessly to ensure the success
of our various fundraisers and we are pleased to already have most of
our 2020 fundraisers scheduled.”
“Volunteering provides a unique and fulfilling experience, and every
day we volunteer, we know our role directly impacts patients and their
care,” said Deana Belcher, president, Camden Campus Volunteer Services.
“I am honored to present this year’s donation of $30,000 to
the Health System.”
Volunteer Services’ donations stay in the respective communities
and are specifically earmarked for items that directly impact patient
care. Previous years’ purchases have included rehabilitation equipment,
waiting room furniture, recliner treatment chairs, simulation manikins
for staff training, telemetry equipment and artwork for the pediatric unit.
“We are deeply appreciative of these donations as well as the time
and energy our volunteers devote to the Health System,” expressed
Michael D. Scherneck, president & CEO, Southeast Georgia Health System.
