February 29, 2020 – Parents Sabrina and Jerry Rich Jr. are leaping
for joy with the arrival of their little “leapling” Elijah
Noah Rich. What is a leapling? It’s someone who celebrates his or
her birthday once every four years, because they are born on February
29th, Leap Day.
Born at 8:10 a.m., at the Southeast Georgia Health System
Miriam & Hugh Nunnally Maternity Care Center, baby Elijah weighed 7 pounds 2 ounces, and measured 18-1/2 inches long.
He was delivered by
Tina Mitchell, M.D., a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist with Lily OB/GYN.
Now Elijah’s parents will need to decide if they will celebrate his
birthday on February 28th or March 1st on non-leap day years. As the youngest
of seven, he’ll have lots of children to help him celebrate, no
matter which day they choose.
