December 18, 2020 – The
Southeast Georgia Health System Foundation recently received a wonderful donation from the Torras Foundation of more
than 150 meals for Health System team members working in COVID-19 critical
care areas. The meals are being prepared and delivered by Fox’s
Pizza, Reid’s Apothecary and Tipsy McSway’s.
“The entire Torras family is grateful for the dedicated hospital
caregivers every year, but they recognize that during the pandemic so
many have gone above and beyond to provide essential services for our
community,” says R. Michael Torras, Torras Foundation Board Member.
“Our hope is that this small token of thanks will not only benefit
the hospital staff but will also help the downtown Brunswick businesses
that the meals are being purchased from. Our family has been a part of
this great community for six generations, and through the Torras Foundation
and the Torras companies, we work hard to give back for the benefit of
all.”
“Unfortunately, COVID-19 continues to be a factor in our community,”
says Krista Robitz, director, Development, Southeast Georgia Health System
Foundation. “Our team members are meeting the frontline demands
around the clock during this pandemic. We are grateful to the Torras family
and their Foundation for providing meals, support and a thoughtful gesture
of emotional support during this pandemic.”
