December 7, 2020 – You might be social distancing today, but while
you’re staying home and staying safe from COVID-19, you can prepare
to save lives tomorrow: learn everything you need to know to travel, study
and work in Haiti! While the entire world is affected by coronavirus,
Haitians are still in need of medical relief from a variety of illnesses,
diseases, parasites and injuries. The Brunswick (GA) Chapter of the Links,
Incorporated, along with Southeast Georgia Health System, is offering
a free, online on-demand webinar about medical and cultural issues affecting Haitians.
Medical Links to Haiti is designed to familiarize medical professionals and the community on
Haitian issues. This year’s featured presenters are Diane Smith,
PhD, R.N., Member, Helping Hugs, Inc., and
Mark G. Hanly, M.D., Chief Medical Officer, Southeastern Pathology Associates, and Vice Chief
of Southeast Georgia Health System’s Brunswick Campus Department
of Pathology.
“This webinar is a wonderful educational opportunity for both the
community and medical professionals. Anyone can access these presentations
from the convenience of home or on the go. Webinar attendees will come
away with a better understanding of the challenges of providing overseas
medical relief and learn how they can help,” says
Shirley D. Wilson, M.D., FACOG, board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist at
Southeast Georgia Physician Associates-Obstetrics & Gynecology and member of The Brunswick (GA) Chapter of the Links, Incorporated.
