September 19 has had its share of memorable moments. In 1778 the Continental
Congress passed the first budget of the United States. September 19, 1776
George Washington gave his farewell address as president. In 1893 New
Zealand became the first country to grant all women the right to vote.
Jackie Robinson was named 1947 "Rookie of Year." And in 1960
Chubby Checker's "The Twist" hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100.
While September 19 may be significant for many reasons, the 2019 date will
be a day to remember for Jordan and Austin Davis. They welcomed their
son, Henry Brooks Davis, into the world at 9:19 a.m., weighing in at 8
pounds 9 ounces, and measuring 20 inches.
When the Davis’s were asked if 19 was their favorite number, they
both laughed and said no. Austin quickly chimed in saying, “It will
be now!”
Baby Davis was delivered by
Darrin A. Strickland, M.D., at Southeast Georgia Health System’s
Miriam & Hugh Nunnally Maternity Care Center. Strickland is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist with
Southeast Georgia Physician Associates-Obstetrics & Gynecology.
