October 28, 2019 – Primary care patients may recognize a familiar
face at their next appointment. Having formerly provided care at St. Simons
Immediate Care Center, board-certified physician
Martin R. Artman, M.D., is now at
Southeast Georgia Physician Associates-Primary Care in Brunswick.
Artman earned his medical degree at Georgetown University School of Medicine
in Washington, D.C. He completed his residency at Tripler Army Medical
Center and his fellowship at Madigan Army Medical Center. He was attracted
to a career in health care, and primary care in particular, because he
enjoys taking care of diverse illnesses.
“I like people, and I want to try to help them,” says Artman.
“It’s important to me to treat the whole patient—to
listen to their thoughts, feelings and opinions—and not just their

“I love living and treating patients in a suburban community. It’s
not too big, not too small, and the Health System has a great referral
system. Considering all the specialties in the area, patients have the

Artman considers his sense of humor, in addition to his education and training,
as one of the skills that make him a great doctor. “A good sense
of humor can help make any situation a little better.” When not
working, Artman enjoys exercising, especially jogging and bike riding,
