March 26, 2019 –Healthy eating habits are important at any age, but
as you get older, some foods can have an influential impact on your overall
wellbeing. Fortunately, there are things you can do to help prevent nutrient
deficiencies and other age-related changes. You can actually delay or
even reverse your biological aging through keeping a healthy lifestyle.
For example, eating nutrient-rich foods and taking the appropriate supplements
can help keep you healthy as you age.
On Wednesday, March 27, 12:30-1:30 p.m. Romaine Hanson, M.S., R.D., dietitian,
Southeast Georgia Health System, will be the guest speaker for the monthly
Golden Isles YMCA Lunch and Learn For Your Health. Her presentation, “With
Proper Nutrition You Can Age Gracefully,” will discuss important
information on how the body changes with age, common deficiencies in vitamin
and minerals, malnutrition and more.
The Golden Isles YMCA is located at 144 Scranton Connector, Brunswick.
Seating is limited and pre-registration is required by calling the YMCA
at 912-265-4100. A YMCA membership is not required to attend; the Lunch
and Learn is open to the public, and lunch will be provided by Subway
at no charge to attendees.
