Southeast Georgia Health System is pleased to announce
John A. Milazzo III, CPA, as its new vice president and chief financial officer (CFO). Milazzo’s
areas of responsibility include finance and accounting, information systems,
patient financial services, patient access, supply chain services, medical
records and resource management.
“John has more than 30 years of health care experience with progressive
leadership and administrative roles,” said
Michael D. Scherneck, president & CEO, Southeast Georgia Health System. “As CFO,
John will be responsible for optimizing the Health System’s financial
strategy in tandem with excellence in patient care and health outcomes.
We are confident his experience will make a positive impact on our ability
to implement growth strategies and address the financial challenges we
face in today’s health care environment.”
Most recently, Milazzo served as the chief financial officer for St. Francis
Hospital in Columbus, Georgia. Prior to that he was the chief financial
officer at River Region Health System in Vicksburg, Mississippi. He also
held a variety of roles within Health Management Associates, Inc., serving
hospitals in Alabama, South Carolina and Florida from 1999 to 2007.
Milazzo holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Richard Stockton
College of New Jersey and earned his certified public accounting license
from the state of Alabama.
