July 10 , 2019 – Southeast Georgia Health System is pleased to welcome
board-certified physician assistant and primary care specialist,
Natalie B. Yonz, PA-C, to
Southeast Georgia Physician Associates-Camden Primary Care. Yonz earned her physician assistant degree at the University of Kentucky
in Lexington, and chose the field of primary care because of the impact
she could have on people’s lives.
“I’ve always been interested in science and knew from a young
age that I wanted to work in the medical field,” says Yonz. “Health
influences your quality of life. It’s my pleasure to have a small
part in helping my patients live a happier, healthier life so they can
participate in the activities that give them joy.”
Yonz’s approach to patient care is based on a highly valued skill
that she didn’t necessary learn in medical school: how to listen.
“I take the time to listen to my patients and feel their concerns
as deeply as they do,” says Yonz. “I believe that as a provider,
it’s my duty to take my patients’ desires and wishes into
account when caring for them, and developing a treatment plan to include
things they’re comfortable with.”
She adds that, “Above all else, I really enjoy one-on-one interactions
with my patients. My personal approach to health care includes getting
to know my patients beyond the reason that brought them in to see me.
I strive to explain my reasoning behind my recommended treatments and
detail how their health will benefit as a result. It’s really satisfying
to see patients on multiple visits and get to know them as people.”
Although Yonz had her pick of Health Systems to choose from throughout
the country, she and her husband,
Michael Christopher Yonz, M.D.,
Summit Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Surgery, decided to return to their family in Georgia following their medical training.
“Southeast Georgia Health System provides quality medical care for
patients in their own community. My husband and I decided to return to
Camden County last fall, and we’re both very proud to have the opportunity
to live and work in this area together.”
When Yonz isn’t practicing medicine, she enjoys spending her free
time outdoors with her husband and their two dogs. They can be found on
the water on their pedal drive kayaks on the weekends. Additionally, Yonz
is a running enthusiast, having completed seven half marathons.
Southeast Georgia Physician Associates-Camden Primary Care, a strategic affiliate of the Health System, is located in St. Marys,
