July 9, 2019 – Southeast Georgia Health System is pleased to welcome
Elizabeth Ann Reece, M.D., to
Southeast Georgia Physician Associates-Camden Pediatrics and the Camden Campus medical staff.
Reece earned her medical degree at the University of Maryland in Baltimore
and completed her residency at Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children’s
Hospital in Houston. She chose to specialize in pediatrics because of
her love of children.
“The first time I delivered a baby as a medical student, I was hooked,”
says Reece. “Kids are just so honest. Bringing a smile to a child’s
face brightens my day.”
With twenty years of experience treating children, her approach to health
care is very patient-centered and inclusive of parents’ needs and
their wishes. It’s her goal to, “work in tandem with the child’s
family, not overrun their decisions. I strive to be a support and resource
to help parents better care for their children.”
She adds, “Helping parents navigate the health care world if their
child has a chronic illness requires special services, and being hands
on with their care is my pleasure.”
Prior to joining the Health System medical staff, Reece had many options,
but she decided to relocate to St. Marys because of its friendly atmosphere.
“Southeast Georgia is a hidden gem, both the area itself and the
people,” says Reece. “The location is beautiful, the people
are lovely and welcoming, and I’m looking forward to joining an
excellent practice with physicians and team members already working hard
to meet the health care needs of our community.”
When Reece isn’t practicing medicine, she can be found spending her
free time enjoying the outdoors, hiking and biking. Dedicated to physical
fitness and health, Reece practices what she preaches, having accomplished
the impressive goal of running three marathons. Her husband, Edward Reece,
D.O., is also employed at the Health System and will begin seeing patients
in July 2019 at
Southeast Georgia Physician Associates-Obstetrics & Gynecology.
Southeast Georgia Physician Associates-Camden Pediatrics, a strategic affiliate of the Health System, is located in St. Marys,
Ga. Reece provides expert care for babies and children of all ages, including
