Jan. 17, 2019 – The discussion over receiving care at a hospital
emergency room versus treatment from an immediate/urgent care center is
worth having for anyone concerned about medical debt, especially families
who may have many “emergency” and “immediate”
needs facing them every year. Knowing the difference between life-threatening
and non-life-threatening medical conditions, and where to seek treatment,
could save your life or the life of your loved ones, as well as eliminate
unnecessary financial stress.
On Wednesday, Jan. 30, 12:30-1:30 p.m., Glenn Gann, R.N., MSN, director,
Emergency Care Center (ECC), Southeast Georgia Health System, will be the guest speaker for
the monthly Golden Isles YMCA Lunch and Learn For Your Health. His presentation,
“Emergency Room vs. Immediate Care: Services, Costs & Wait Times,”
will discuss important information on emergent vs. non-emergent symptoms,
triage protocol, the Health System’s ECC expansion project and more.
The Golden Isles YMCA is located at 144 Scranton Connector, Brunswick.
Seating is limited and pre-registration is required by calling the YMCA
at 912-265-4100. A YMCA membership is not required to attend; the Lunch
and Learn is open to the public, and lunch will be provided by Olive Garden
at no charge to attendees.
