October 17, 2018 – Alpha Delta Kappa is an international honorary
organization of women educators dedicated to educational excellence, altruism
and
world understanding. Every October, in recognition of the sorority’s
founding month, the members conduct an annual service project.
This year, the sorority purchased and donated 100 brand new books to the
Southeast Georgia Health System Miriam & Hugh Nunnally Maternity Care Center. Every baby born during the month of October will receive a new book.
In addition, each family will be entered into a chance to win a basket
full of new books. The drawing will be held at the end of the month.
“We are very thankful to Alpha Delta Kappa for their generosity and
compassion towards our youngest patients,” says Krista Robitz, director,
Development,
Southeast Georgia Health System Foundation. “Research has shown that reading to newborns can be very beneficial
to their growth and is a great bonding time.”
