Topic of Upcoming Lunch and Learn For Your Health Lecture

May 2, 2018– By now, most people know that smoking tobacco is the
number one risk factor for lung cancer. However, did you know that people
who have never smoked could also develop lung cancer? According to the
American Cancer Society, at least 80 percent of lung cancer deaths are
caused by smoking, and many others are caused by exposure to secondhand smoke.
Each year, more people die of lung cancer than of colon, breast, and prostate
cancers combined. Although cancer can’t be prevented, there are
many things you could do to lower your risk.
Join us on Tuesday, May 22, as
Kenyon Meadows, M.D., board-certified radiation oncologist with the Southeast Georgia Health
System Cancer Care Center, presents “Lung Cancer Screening: Is it
Right for Me?” The lecture will offer important information on strategies
to reduce your risk for lung cancer, treatment options, lung cancer screening
guidelines and more.
The free lecture will take place 12-1 p.m. at Southeast Georgia Health
System Camden Campus in the Conference Center, Room B, 2000 Dan Proctor
Drive in St. Marys.
A light lunch will be served; seating is limited and reservations are recommended
but walk-ins are welcome. To learn more about the free lecture or to reserve
