March 1, 2018 – Southeast Georgia Health System is pleased to welcome
pediatrician
Meredith J. Brazell, D.O., with
Southeast Georgia Physician Associates-Camden Pediatrics, to the Camden Campus medical staff.
Brazell earned her medical degree from A.T. Still University, Mesa, Arizona,
and completed her residency at Augusta University, Augusta, Georgia. Prior
to joining the Health System, Brazell was featured in Pediatric News for
her research in childhood obesity and presented at the National Academy
of Pediatrics Conference.
“I’ve loved babysitting and taking care of little children
before I could even drive,” Brazell says, describing her passion
for pediatrics. “The connections I make with families and getting
to know their children is rewarding. My approach to health care is to
treat the whole person, so in addition to keeping my patients physically
healthy, I take great satisfaction in watching them grow up and seeing
their potential blossom in the community.”
When Brazell isn’t practicing medicine, she enjoys being outside,
especially boating, traveling and running, and being adventurous. Her
most recent personal accomplishment was completing the full Panama City,
Florida Ironman triathlon during her last year of medical residency. In
addition to outdoor activities, she also spends time volunteering with
Special Olympics and her church nursery, and performing school physicals.
Although Brazell considered many health systems throughout the country,
she decided to set roots in Southeast Georgia because of family ties in
the tight-knit community.
“I enjoy the small town feel where I’ll really get to know
my patients and what is important to them,” she says. “My
husband grew up in this town, so it’s great getting to take care
of friends, family and church members, and feel connected as a community.”
Southeast Georgia Physician Associates-Camden Pediatrics, a strategic affiliate
of the Health System, is located at 2040 Dan Proctor Drive, Ste. 140,
in St. Marys. Brazell provides expert care for children of all ages, from
birth to young adulthood, including wellness and preventive care; diagnosing
and managing chronic conditions, ADHD and childhood obesity; and treating
acute illnesses. Visit sghs.org/peds or call 912-673-8000 to schedule
