July 17, 2018 – Southeast Georgia Health System Auxiliaries recently
announced Nikki Quiter as the Brunswick Campus Volunteer of the Quarter
and Kathleen Cobb as the Camden Campus Volunteer of the Quarter during
their respective quarterly luncheons.
“We have watched Nikki grow both personally and professionally over
the last few years,” says Joyce Toler, president, Brunswick Campus
Auxiliary. “She is always open to new challenges and willing to
help in any way she can.”
A volunteer since 2014, Quiter says the Health System team is like family
to her. “I look forward to my volunteer shift every week and I have
made many great friends,” she adds.
Quiter, a St. Simons Island resident, is a member of St. Simons United
Methodist Church and enjoys playing online games and spending time with
her cat, Molly, when she is not volunteering.
Retired after many years in health care, Kingsland resident Cobb says volunteering
is her way of giving back to the community. She can be found on Mondays
at the Guest Services Desk, as well as assisting with the many fundraising
sales throughout the year.
“Kathleen welcomes our patients and visitors at the Guest Services
desk with her warm smile and quiet, calm demeanor,” says Kristin
Doll, CAVS, director, Volunteer Services. “Given her background,
it is evident Kathleen has a long-standing commitment to care for those
in her community.”
When not volunteering at the Health System, Cobb enjoys reading and spending
time with her family. Cobb and her husband, James, have two children,
four grandchildren and one great-grandchild that keep them busy. She is
a member of Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church in Woodbine.
More than 300 volunteers generously share their time and talents to assist
patients, visitors, and team members at the Southeast Georgia Health System
Brunswick and Camden campuses, as well as the Senior Care Centers in Brunswick
and St. Marys. To learn more about volunteer opportunities, contact Kristin
