Jan. 8, 2018 – Obesity is the number one health problem in America,
even more so now than smoking, and it leads to other serious medical and
psychological health issues. During this month’s Health Chat Webinar,
John W. Tsai, M.D., board-certified general and bariatric surgeon,
Southeast Georgia Physician Associates-Glynn General & Vascular Surgery, presents “Understanding Morbid Obesity: Are you at risk?”.
“Being morbidly obese can shave ten years off your life, ten healthy
years that could have been spent traveling to new places, dancing at your
grandchild’s wedding and enjoying the best years of your life,”
says Tsai. “Join me for this educational webinar to better understand
morbid obesity, and learn about the resources available to help you live
a healthier and happier life.”
Tsai earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science
Center in San Antonio and completed his general surgery residency at Eisenhower
Army Medical Center in Augusta, Ga.
Prior to joining the Health System in 2016, Tsai was Chief of the Department
of General Surgery and Bariatric Surgery at Winn Army Community Hospital
in Fort Stewart, Ga., and founder of the hospital’s bariatric program.
During his 11 years of military service, he deployed twice to Afghanistan.
His military awards include a Meritorious Service Medal, three Army Commendation
Medals, Army Achievement Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with two campaign
stars and two NATO Medals.
