April 20, 2018 – More than 25 million Americans are living with asthma,
a chronic disease that causes airways to become inflamed, making it hard
to breathe. While asthma cannot be cured, its symptoms can be controlled.
Symptoms include wheezing, coughing, shortness of breath and/or chest
tightness. Asthma can develop at any age and does not have one isolated
cause, but is instead a complex interaction between environmental and
many genetic forms.
To better understand this disease, join us on Wednesday, April 25, as
Kevin M. Fussell, M.D.,
Southeast Georgia Physician Associates-Pulmonary Medicine, presents “Understanding Asthma: One Breath at a Time.” The
presentation will offer important information on avoiding triggers, managing
symptoms, treatment options and more.
The Lunch and Learn For Your Health lecture will be held at the Golden
Isles YMCA from 12 to 1 p.m., and lunch will be provided by Shane’s
Rib Shack at no charge to attendees. A YMCA membership is not required
to attend; the Lunch and Learn is open to the public.
The Lunch and Learn For Your Health series takes place at the Golden Isles
YMCA located at 144 Scranton Connector, Brunswick. Seating is limited
and pre-registration is required by calling the YMCA at 912-265-4100.
