Southeast Georgia Physician Associates-Primary Care, a strategic affiliate of Southeast Georgia Health System, has opened
a new practice on St. Simons Island and is pleased to welcome
Margaret F. Carter, M.D., board-certified family medicine physician. The practice is located at
7000 Wellness Way, Suite 7210.
Already a familiar face in the community, Carter has been in private practice
on St. Simons Island for the past 10 years. Previous to that she was an
urgent care physician at Glynco Immediate Care Center and St. Simons Immediate
Care Center, both strategic affiliates of the Health System.
Carter earned her bachelor’s degree at Valdosta State University
and received her doctorate from the Medical College of Georgia, now Georgia
Regents University. After completing her residency at Southwest Georgia
Family Practice in Albany, where she was
chief
resident for two years, Carter worked at Chatuge Medical Center with locations
in Hiawassee, Ga., and Hayesville, N.C. She then returned to Southwest
Georgia Family Residency Program as faculty, advancing to associate director.
Southeast Georgia Physician Associates-Primary Care on St. Simons Island
is accepting new patients; most insurances and Medicare/Medicaid are accepted.
