Oct. 31, 2017 – Gene Laurendeau of Brunswick was recently named Volunteer
of the Quarter by the Southeast Georgia Health System Brunswick Campus
Auxiliary.
Laurendeau joined the Health System’s Brunswick Auxiliary in June
2016 and volunteers several days a week in the Surgical Services’
central prep and recovery area. He also actively volunteers for Auxiliary
fundraisers and special projects.
“Volunteering is extremely rewarding,” says Laurendeau. “I’m
honored to be recognized, but frankly what we do is a team effort and
we have a wonderful team!”
When Laurendeau is not volunteering at the Health System, or with the St.
Francis Xavier Parish Council, he enjoys reading, fishing, water activities,
cooking and wine tasting. His significant other, MaryLynne Cochran, is
also a Health System volunteer.
More than 300 volunteers generously share their time and talents to assist
patients, visitors, and team members at the Southeast Georgia Health System
Brunswick and Camden campuses, as well as the Senior Care Centers in Brunswick
and St. Marys. To learn more about volunteer opportunities, contact Kristin
