Oct. 13, 2017 – According to the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention, about one in three Americans are obese. Obesity contributes
to a variety of health conditions that limit your quality of life, including
heart disease, gallbladder disease, diabetes, stroke, high blood pressure
and certain types of cancer. Understanding obesity and its causes, as
well as losing weight are the first steps to better health.
In support of obesity awareness,
John Tsai, M.D., FACS, board-certified general surgeon specializing in bariatric surgery using
Southeast Georgia Physician Associates-Glynn General & Vascular Surgery, is offering two opportunities on Monday, Oct. 23, to attend his presentation,
“Understanding Obesity: Are You at Risk?”
The Camden Campus presentation will take place from 12-1 p.m., in the Conference
Center, 2000 Dan Proctor Drive, St. Marys. A light lunch will be provided
at no charge to attendees.
The Brunswick Campus presentation will be 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the Kemble
Conference Center, 3011 Kemble Ave. Light refreshments will be provided.
The presentations will offer important information on how being overweight
can affect your health, how obesity can be treated, nutrition and wellness
tips for improving your health and much more. Seating is limited and pre-registration
