May 5, 2017– Osteoporosis is often known as a silent disease because
bone loss occurs without symptoms. According to the National Institutes
of Health, osteoporosis causes 1.5 million bone fractures every year.
Implementing fracture prevention is an essential part of osteoporosis
treatment.

orthopaedic
surgeon,
Summit Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Surgery, a strategic affiliate of Southeast Georgia Health System, will present
“Osteoporosis and Fracture Prevention.” The Lunch and Learn
For Your Health lecture will be held at the Golden Isles YMCA from 12
to 1 p.m., and lunch will be provided at no charge to attendees.
The lecture will offer important information on keeping your bones healthy,
preventing fragility fractures, treatment options for osteoporosis and
much more.
The Lunch and Learn For Your Health series takes place at the Golden Isles
YMCA located at 144 Scranton Connector, Brunswick. Seating is limited
