January 27, 2016– Southeast Georgia Health System is pleased to announce
Janice L. Dunn, MBA, as its new vice president and chief financial officer
(CFO). Dunn replaces Michael D. Scherneck, who has continued to serve
as the CFO since his appointment as the Health System’s president
and CEO in August 2015.
Dunn brings 27 years experience in health care financial management, and
as CFO will be responsible for optimizing the Health System’s financial
strategy in tandem with excellence in patient care and health outcomes.
Her areas of responsibilities
include:
admissions, finance, information systems, medical records, patient financial
services, reimbursement, resource management, revenue cycle
and
supply chain.
Before joining the Health System, Dunn most recently served as CFO for
Saint Joseph Health System in Mishawaka and Plymouth, Ind. As a clinically
integrated health system with two hospitals and more than 100 employed
providers, Dunn helped transform the organization’s fiscal performance
resulting in high operating cash flows while continuing to focus on patient
care and outcomes. This was achieved through
a proactive
response to health care reform, fostering fiscal accountability and contingency planning.
Prior to that, she was the vice president and CFO at St. Joseph Medical
Center in Towson, Md., after holding the same position at Southwest General
Health Center in Middleburg Heights, Ohio. At both
hospitals
she implemented growth strategies through the implementation of strategic
performance improvement plans.
Dunn earned her bachelor’s of science degree in accounting from the
University of Akron in Akron, Ohio, and received her master’s degree
in business administration from Cleveland State University in Cleveland, Ohio.
