January 11, 2017 – The start of a new year, a time filled with promise,
hope and resolve; with many people setting sights on a new weight-loss
goal. However, post-holiday season and colder weather can make it challenging
for everyone, even those who have exceptional willpower.
According to researchers at the National Institutes of Health, most Americans
never lose the weight they gain during the winter holidays. It is time
to learn how to survive the winter months and fulfill your New Year’s
resolution by managing the winter blues and making over your kitchen.
On Wednesday, Jan. 25, Cassie DeFeo, MEd, LPC, R.D., L.D., Clinical Nutrition
Manager at Southeast Georgia Health System, will present “New Year’s
Resolution Resolve: Putting Your Best Fork Forward.” The Lunch and
Learn For Your Health lecture will be held at the Golden Isles YMCA from
12 to 1 p.m., and A Moveable Feast will provide lunch at no charge to
attendees.
The lecture will offer important information on how to successfully kick
bad habits, as well as provide tips on eating healthy and navigating the
grocery store.
The Lunch and Learn For Your Health series takes place at the Golden Isles
YMCA located at 144 Scranton Connector, Brunswick. Seating is limited
and pre-registration is required by calling the YMCA at 912-265-4100.
