Aug. 17, 2017 – According to the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention, about one in three Americans are obese. This includes millions
of children who often battle with weight for their entire lives. Obesity
contributes to a variety of health conditions that limit your quality
of life, including heart disease, gallbladder disease, diabetes, stroke,
high blood pressure and certain types of cancer. Understanding obesity
and its causes, as well as losing weight
are
the first steps to better health.
On Wednesday, Aug. 30, John Tsai, M.D., FACS, board-certified general surgeon,
Southeast Georgia Physician Associates-Glynn General & Vascular Surgery,
will present “Understanding Obesity: Are You at Risk?” The
Lunch and Learn For Your Health lecture will be held at the Golden Isles
YMCA from 12 to 1 p.m., and lunch will be provided at no charge to attendees.
The lecture will offer important information on how overweight and obesity
are treated, nutrition and wellness tips for improving your health and
much more.
The Lunch and Learn For Your Health series takes place at the Golden Isles
YMCA located at 144 Scranton Connector, Brunswick. Seating is limited
