April 25, 2017— Do you have trouble brushing your hair, lifting a
coffee pot or pouring yourself a cup because of shoulder pain? Have you
stopped playing a favorite sport, such as tennis or golf? Beau Sasser,
M.D., board-certified orthopaedic surgeon at Summit Sports Medicine &
Orthopaedic Surgery, and Medical Director of Southeast Georgia Health
System Sports Medicine, presents
“Shoulder Aches and Pains: When to see the doctor” for this month’s Health Chat Webinar.
“There are many causes of shoulder pain and many can be treated without
surgery,” says Sasser. “Learning about the symptoms, treatment
and recovery time for the common causes of shoulder pain can help people
better understand their options.”
Sasser is a native of Glynn County. He earned his undergraduate degree
from Washington University in St. Louis, Mo., and his medical degree from
the Medical College of Georgia where he also completed both his internship
and orthopaedic residency. Following his residency, Sasser received exclusive
sports medicine training while in a fellowship program with the Kansas
City Orthopaedic Institute. During this time, he worked with the NFL’s
Kansas City Chiefs, treating a variety of sports and orthopaedic injuries
incurred by these elite athletes.
