EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY
Southeast Georgia Health System management announced that they have evacuated
all hospital inpatients and are
closing the emergency room effective at 7:00 a.m. on October 7th based on the evacuation directives made by the Glynn County Emergency
Management Agency combined with the likelihood of power losses due to
predicted storm surges. The Emergency Department is tentatively planning
to re-open at 7 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 9 depending on the weather conditions.
Management and staff successfully evacuated approximately 180 inpatients,
and have treated and released all emergency room patients as appropriate.
Patients’ family members and/or emergency contacts have been notified
as transfer arrangements were made with receiving facilities in Georgia
and Florida.
