
What is pre-diabetes and is it something you need to worry about? In the
United States, 29.1 million people have diabetes, and another 86 million
have pre-diabetes, a condition where their blood sugars are higher than
normal but not high enough to be diagnosed with diabetes.
Join us for the Lunch and Learn For Your Health lecture at the Golden Isles
YMCA from 12 to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25, as Sue Ullrich, R.N., M.A.Ed.,
CDE, Diabetes Program Coordinator, presents “Diabetes Awareness
and Prevention.” Applebees will provide lunch at no charge to attendees.
The lecture will offer important information on risk factors for pre-diabetes, reducing
risk
for type 2 diabetes, healthy lifestyle changes, and more.
The Lunch and Learn For Your Health series takes place at the Golden Isles
YMCA located at 144 Scranton Connector, Brunswick. Seating is limited
