Southeast Georgia Health System Auxiliaries recently announced Chris Harris
as the Brunswick Campus Volunteer of the Quarter and Ellyn Koehler as
the Camden Campus Volunteer of the Quarter during their respective quarterly
luncheons.
A member of the Auxiliary since 2007, a Brunswick resident Chris Harris
volunteers in the Emergency Care Center (ECC) each week and throughout
the year at fundraising sales. “Volunteering in the ECC is incredibly
rewarding,” she said. “I enjoy talking with the patients and
helping the team members as they provide care.”
“Chris is so dedicated to her service in the Emergency Care Center,”
said Kristin Doll, CAVS, director, Volunteer Services. “Beyond her
weekly volunteer schedule, I can always count on her to help with our
fundraising sales. Whether it’s working shifts at the Jewelry Sale
or baking cakes for the Bake Sale, she always steps up to the plate.”
In addition to her volunteering, Harris enjoys spending time with her
best friend, children and grandchildren.

A Kingslands resident, Ellyn Koehler has been a Health System volunteer
for three years. Every Friday, she volunteers at the Camden Campus Guest
Services desk, but often fills in for volunteers in other areas.
“I look forward to my time spent at the Health System,” Koehler
said. “I have made some really great friends through volunteering
and I’m grateful for the opportunity to help out while meeting so
many lovely people.”
“Ellyn has a smile for each person that walks through our doors,”
said Glenda Battle, president, Camden Campus Auxiliary. “She is
a valuable member of our auxiliary and always happy to serve wherever
she is needed.” Kohler is also a member of the Newcomers Club and
enjoys playing Mah Jong and Mexican dominoes.
More than 300 volunteers generously share their time and talents to assist
patients, visitors, and team members at the Southeast Georgia Health System
