When Laura DiPreta, Glynn County Medical Alliance (GCMA) member, discovered
the adorable Beanie Boos at St. Simons Drug Company, inspiration hit:
“These perfect,
little stuffed
animals will bring smiles to the Health System’s pediatric patients!”
DiPreta worked with Donna Godbey, also a member of the GCMA, to purchase
a large quantity of the stuffed animals. When St. Simons Drug Company
became aware of the newly inspired project, they generously matched the
GCMA donation, providing a total of 105 cuddly Beanie Boos to the Health
System Pediatric Units.
In addition to the stuff animals, the GCMA donated $250 to the Miriam
& Hugh Nunnally Maternity Care Center.
“We are very thankful to the Glynn County Medical Alliance and St.
Simons Drug Company for their generosity and compassion towards our young
patients,” says Krista Robitz, director, Development, Southeast
Georgia Health System Foundation. “Holding a new, cuddly stuffed
animal helps children feel comforted and protected when they aren’t
feeling well.”
