With a due date still a week away, little Aiden Manuel Rivera-Palacios
made an early arrival just in time to be declared Camden County’s
first baby of 2016. Parents Laylannie Rivera and Manuel Rivera Jimenez,
USN first class petty officer, of St. Marys, welcomed their son into the
world at 6:20 a.m. on Jan. 2, 2016.
Born at the Southeast Georgia Health System Camden Campus Maternity Care
Center in St. Marys, little Aiden weighed in at 6 lbs., 8 oz., and measured
20 inches long.
Big sister Alanis, age 4, was excited to welcome her baby brother to his
“blue” room and hopes he’ll share his toys.

Brunswick resident Ana Velazquez welcomed the newest addition to her family,
Jesus Bryan Velazquez-Medina, on Jan. 3, 2016. Baby boy Jesus arrived
at 9:32 a.m. at the Health System’s Miriam & Hugh Nunnally Maternity
Care Center in Brunswick as Glynn County’s first baby of 2016.
Jesus weighed 6 lbs., 10 oz., and measured 19-1/2 inches long. He is the
baby brother of a proud older sister and brother.
To welcome the New Year’s babies, the families were presented with
a large basket filled with gifts and baby care necessities from the Health
System’s Auxiliary Gift Shops.
