Mar. 25, 2015–Southeast Georgia Health System Auxiliaries recently
announced Larry Greene as the Brunswick Campus Volunteer of the Quarter
and Barbara Hall as the Camden Campus Volunteer of the Quarter during
their respective quarterly Auxiliary luncheons.
A member of the Auxiliary since 2005, Greene volunteers his time in Admissions
and the Gift Shop and helps with special events like the Southeast Georgia
Health System Bridge Run.
“Larry can be found volunteering in various areas of the Health
System,” says Kristin Doll, director, Volunteer Services. “He
consistently demonstrates kindness and compassion in every personal encounter.”
In his spare time, Greene also stays busy with the Golden Isles Baptist
Church serving as the treasurer. “I feel blessed to be able to volunteer
with other caring and compassionate people. I hope we, in some small way,
make a positive difference in the lives of those we come in contact with,”
says Greene.
Barbara Hall has volunteered in the Camden Campus Gift Shop since 2010.
She currently serves as the Gift Shop’s treasurer, a position her
aunt, Peggy Hall, previously held. “Barbara’s attention to
detail makes her well-suited for Gift Shop Treasurer,” says Kathleen
Worthing, president, Camden Campus Auxiliary. “Her passion for helping
those around her makes her an ideal volunteer.”
Hall enjoys gardening, reading
and
cross stitching, and also serves as the director of the Handbell Choir
at St. Marys United Methodist Church. “I really enjoy the opportunity
to meet and interact with new people while giving back to my community
through volunteering with the Health System,” says Hall.
More than 300 volunteers currently enjoy sharing their time and talents
to assist patients, visitors, and team members at the Southeast Georgia
Health System Brunswick and Camden campuses, as well as the Senior Care
Centers in Brunswick and St. Marys. To find out more about volunteer opportunities,
